data_base
In: Data Management
All data in PragTic’s analysis are saved in a file system of independent data_vectors. The data_base is formed as a specialized data_vector, which keeps information over all other data_vectors defined in the current project task. Thus, once editation of any item is finished, all files / data_vectors which are involved are renewed with the new information.
All data_vectors in one data_base have a file name, which is derived from one common rootname defined for the task built. In the case of a file with the same name in the working directory a serial number is added to the rootname.
Data_vectors in the data_base are managed by unique ID-names. Data_vectors are accessible with a help of a data_base tree which is in the left side of PragTic’s IDE. A majority of them is editable or at least viewable in PragTic’s environment. If an overview of data_base’s content is necessary, the main menu items ASCII Printout or View Database should be used.
